Bronchiolitis is a common lung infection in infants and young children, especially during the cold and flu season. Bronchiolitis starts out with symptoms similar to those of a common cold, but then progresses to coughing, wheezing and sometimes difficulty breathing. Most children get better with care at home and only a small percentage of children require hospitalization.

Once it becomes difficult to get your child to eat or drink and his or her breathing becomes more rapid or labored, please call your healthcare provider.
